5 Things You Didn't Know About ...

Matt Faris

1. I enjoy working out at a kickboxing gym.

2. Before I started my engineering career I was a bartender.

3. I attended the first Simon & Garfunkel reunion concert in Central Park, NYC in 1981...purely by accident.

4. As a high school junior, I played in a two-on-two pick-up basketball game against Hall of Famer Moses Malone, and we won. My teammate was very good.

5. I once was a member of a team hired to evaluate large public drinking water systems and their vulnerability to bioterrorist attack.

My favorite thing about my job at Koontz-Bryant is that when the owners began in the early years of advanced technology in the engineering field, they immediately accepted the changes and challenges. They continue to be an industry leader in the use of new technology. The staff is encouraged to find new and better ways to perform their tasks. It keeps everyone sharp and it gives everyone a reason to look forward to work every day. There may be some new and innovative method to be evaluated at any time. We never hear “this is the way we’ve always done it”. I like that.
